By dedicating a complete program to Camille Saint-Saëns, the EO41 commemorates the centenary of the composer’s death (fromCarnival of the Animals among others) while highlighting local heritage through the organs of Loir-et-Cher and the Center - Val de Loire region(an organ is possible for places that do not have one).
Indeed, the monumental3rd Symphony combines the timbre of the organ with that of the symphony orchestra and thus magnifies the sound palette, notablyduring the thunderous entry of the instrument in the last theme, used several times in the cinema.
It is also an opportunity to rediscover some of the musician’s most famous pages such asthereDance of Death in which the instruments are identified with characters or two extracts fromSamson and Delilah and in particular the enthusiastic“Bacchanal ».
The delicate and refinedConcert Piece for harp completes this captivating program.
