Concert for all audiences | Organized by the municipality of Saint Georges sur Cher | Festillésime

17 musicians from EO41 & Video surveillance

under the direction of Claude KESMAECKER /

Wind Quintet (Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Horn, Bassoon) Harp - Piano - Harmonium Double String Quartet (4 Violins, 2 Violas, 2 Cellos) & Bass

On the program, among other filmed melodies:

Ennio Morricone (1928-2020) Gabriel’s Oboe Solo oboe soundtrack from the film Mission - 1986

Georges ONSLOW (1784-1863) Nonette Opus 77 1848 - Extracts

John WILLIAMS (°1932) Viktor’s Tale Solo clarinet soundtrack of the film The Terminal - 2004

Camille SAINT-SAËNS (1835-1921) The Assassination of the Duke of Guise 1st specially composed film music - Opus 117 - 1908

We could have called this program “Orchestra Impressions” as the richness of the timbres deployed by this extraordinary formation is impressive; however, we chose to name it Ciné-concert & small spaces, since beyond the music, the projections linked to the chosen pieces are the second asset.

Great hits from the Original Soundtrack of films (Mission, Le Terminal) rub shoulders with gems of French music composed by Georges Onslow (who - as his name does not indicate - was born in Clermont-Ferrand and was raised in the 19th century to the rank of “Star of composers” then unjustly forgotten during the 20th century).

Always a “French Touch” side to finish with the original version of the 1st soundtrack composed for a film: The Assassination of the Duke of Guise by Camille Saint-Saëns for the film by Henri Lavedan.

A chapel, a cinema, a small stage, a church, a barn, a park: this varied and pleasant program allows any organizer who does not have a “large room” to host the EO41.

An adventure outside the confines for the pleasure of all!
